Check Out The Poster For Geoff Celis’ ‘Some Guys Are Bigger Than Others’
GUYS.
Our good friend Geoff Celis is making this short-film, starring our other good friends Casey Jost, Kevin Devlin, and Tim Duffy (also DAPS’ resident goblin, FLAM), so we’re very excited to share this info:

“Some Guys Are Bigger Than Others,” is a story about a “Morissey” fan named Jim who is just trying to prove to his friends that he can wrestle. It’s a story about self worth, and how sometimes good things can happen, even to people who don’t believe they deserve it.
This movie is a chance for talented Staten Islanders and professionals to create a silly and entertaining story. We’ve already received a $2000 grant from the Council of the Arts and Humanities of Staten Island, but we need your help to get the remainder of our $13000 budget. With your contributions, we hope to make this movie and send it to festivals all over the country and hopefully to show that Staten Islanders can make some great films.

We think you should contribute. Though, if you need more salesmanship, let’s see what Tim Duffy and Kevin Devlin have to say for themselves:

I mean, they’re not Zach Braff, but now you’re sold… right? Well, go contribute on the official indiegogo page. Like right fucking now.
PS. Our other good friend, Mike Shane made the bitchin’ poster you see at the top of this post. Props Mike. You’re a golden god.

Thirty three years ago today, the music world lost one of its most unique and powerful young voices when Ian Curtis, lead singer and songwriter of Joy Division, committed suicide just hours before the Manchester, U.K. band was scheduled to depart for their first tour of North America. In their short run, Joy Division left behind two classic albums that bridged the gap between punk and new wave: 1979’s Unknown Pleasures and 1980’s Closer, both masterpieces of a dark, gloomy style of rock dubbed the Manchester Sound.
